Grupo Silverado: La Plata Pura de la Música Norteña

In 1982, in Mexicali, Baja California, brothers Carlos and Armando Solís began playing together. Carlos led the vocals and accordion, while Armando sang harmony and played bajo sexto. They tried several names before finding the one that would define them.

In 1993 they reinvented themselves and recorded Un Nuevo Amanecer, the first album released as SILVERADO. Five years later, in 1998, they introduced the phrase that would follow them throughout their career: La Plata Pura de la Música Norteña.

What followed was a catalog of more than 300 recorded songs and over 20 albums, moving through norteño ballads, Chicano, cumbia, pop rock and banda. A body of work that never stayed within a single style, because neither did its audience.

The stage took them throughout northern Mexico and across the border to California, Arizona, Texas, Colorado, Nevada, Utah, North Carolina and Nebraska. Four decades performing for northern Mexico and for the communities that carried its music into the United States.

In 2024 they opened a new chapter with Homenaje a los Grandes. Forty-four years after their first performance, it has become the most-listened-to project in their catalog.
